WIF 2008 - webdesign international festival - France

Some hours after the end of the pre-selections of the wif 2008, small retrospective of happiness, speed, rest and answer from all competitors. Physical and also human adventure thanks to the web and its skills.

Friday : 2.00 p.m : the theme
Trafic explosion and rush (more than 30 000 simultaneaous requests in few minutes), theme is launched by email and on the website : WATER IS LIFE.
A theme intentionally wide, which seems to be “easy” but in fact very complex!

Friday : afternoon and night
Answers to competitors questions by email, skype and msn ; community animation, solutions for technical problems, FTP connections tests, request for photos … Afternoon and night very busy!

India, Tunisia and Brasil are very busy… Everybody is working with a few minutes of rest!

Saturday morning : Hard waking !
After a small rest, we go back to work with a check up in India and in other countries. New photos are available  on the wif blog… Not so easy with the time differences!
Teams from Canada, Quebec, USA, Brazil, Tunisia, Morocco, France, India , Indonesia, China, Japan, Australia… i.e. more than 15 countries all over the world.

Saturday 2.00p.m
After a FTP connections control, the website is disabled for the creations transfer… Sometimes, we had more than 50 simultaneous connections for the transfer of websites.
At 2.00 p.m, FTP accesses were stopped.

Saturday : 3.00 p.m.
Last checking
Since Friday morning and after more than 32 hours no-stop for the wif team  : everybody go back home for a well deserved rest!
The same for the competitors teams : it is time to go to sleep.

The team who has support the competitors and who has done the follow up in Limoges during 24 hours :

The jury will begin this week its website selection in order to choose the best 40 creations for the finale in Limoges in April.

The results will be available at the end of this month and soon a photos best of!
