Every fortnight, wif team, in collaboration with the Pole Excellence e-Design, invites you to discover an interview of an interactive designer. This week, Teis: graphic designer from the Netherlands.

wif : « Only one sentence to describe yourself… »
Teis: I’m Teis Albers from the Netherlands, 25 and a graphic designer with love for the job.

wif : « You don’t just suddenly become a webdesigner. Tell me what led you to this world? »
Teis: I was educated from my 16th to 21 in Eindhoven, during my school period I experimented a lot with different styles and was always busy designing stuff in the after hours. I really became interested in the ‘world of design’ after I discovered a website called holodeck73 wich became Newstoday later on. From there I got such an inspiration boost that I wanted to know everything about it (and still do).

wif : « Taking your experience into account, can try you to imagine and tell me what your job and works will look like in the 5 next years? »
Teis: In five years technology will be much further ofcourse, But the more screens, magazine and channels around, the more work we as designers will get. More and more will be template based I think. Real creatives will ofcourse come up with new directions in expression, hey maybe new colours! Who knows!

wif : « According to you, what media or what innovation has had the greatest impact lately? »
Teis: AJAX websites are damn slick, coming from basic HTML, it’s hard to understand haha. Love for example the apple & flickr website..

wif : « On the opposite, what innovation has been the most useless, a complete “revolution disaster”? »
Teis: All these different file formats I see in my photoshop list while clicking save as…
