Every fortnight, wif team, in collaboration with the Pole Excellence e-Design, invites you to discover an interview of an interactive designer. This week, Michal Piotrowski : designer from Poland.
wif : « Could you introduce yourself in one sentence? »
Michal : Per aspera ad astra?;-) (ie : “through hardships to the stars“)
wif : « You don’t become a designer just like that. What makes you come in the world of design? »
Michal : I was start my journey with design relatively early - when I was fifteen I I was start my “design education” in Art School in warsaw, In the meantima I win of a few small design competitions and gain more experience and knowledge. Next i was naturally put my steps into High School of Arts in Lodz.
All my free time I was working as freelancer for bigger and smaller design studios and adv. agencies. now Im continuing my career as designer/art director and Im trying to be present into a few disciplines of design activity.
wif : « According to your experience, how do you see your profession and your works in the next five years? »
Michal : I think we will observe more interaction and interactive solutions in this field in the future. Maybe design will be closer to human behaviors and will use it in communication? Its also medium with international range - maybe we create unique/new methods of communication between different cultures and peoples from different coutries (some kind of design esperanto?;-)
Interactive design will be placed somewhere between technology and communicative function and will join these two worlds/environments closer in the future.
In my opinion in the close future joining of commercial tv with Internet will be a fact. It gives a lot more options for Interactive designers.

wif : « For you which is the media or the innovation which most stood out recently? »
Michal : Im not sure, cell phones technology maybe?
wif : « A contrario, which is the most useless innovation which can be described as “failed revolution”? »
Michal : Im still not working in “no cables” environment
