Launched in Beta by Microsoft, a new engine using a very original graphic interface to post the results of a research.

The engine using Live search of MSN called Tafiti, which means ” to make a research ” in Swahili (or more exactly in Kiswahili, language of the South of Kenya), proposes 3 interesting screen sights :

• On left side, search and type (web, images, RSS, etc…);
• In the centre, the result;
• On the right side, a “desk pad” to store the searche

The small link “Tree view”, interesting in the central result… which allows a display in tree-shaped, therefore we can define the number of branches by a zoom system.

Original display, although a little “messy” for the result… But Silverlight techno gives a result rather convincing.

Microsoft launches indeed a competitor of Flash, JavaFX and Flex. The creative community has henceforth a new full tool of dev to (with its specific plug-in available under different OS and browsers except Linux). In few words, Silverlight can be considered as a interpreter of language XAML (or “eXTENSIBLE Application Markup Language”, language promoted by Microsoft, used for the depiction and the description of interfaces). Silverlight involves also a small engine. Net that can execute code VB.Net and C#.

Silverlight allows to view vectors animations, multimedia contents (audio and video, in particular Windows Media Video).The continuation Expression, allows the developers to create Silverlight applications
