Since its birth, WIF is a multi-cultural festival. It learned how to combine the cultures between them and to regularly gather them around the interactivity. Thanks to the numerous exchanges born from the webjam, the conferences, and the meetings between professionals, WIF could acquire its status of event awaited by the creative community.
The WIF redesigned its visual identity for better reflecting the designers challenges, not only on the web, but also through all the new services and supports, connected to the mobility and innovating interfaces.
The three bias of this identity bring to light the concern of an evolutionary brand, multicultural, appropriable but also more coherent.
The symbol W which is one of the elements of the logo was worked from elementary forms, of triangles assembled between them. Cut out in a color shape, this emblem is a window behind which iconography is free to express the inspiration of each culture taking part in the Festival.
The name WIF, which means Webdesign International Festival, is made with the Mercado Sans font, designed by Matt Desmond. Its identifying inspiration, underlined by the strength of its bold type, translates the ambition of the Festival to become a mark in the diversity of the creative events that give rhythm to the year. The year will be exactly the exponential component that will add to the initials and will increment each edition of the Festival of original discoveries
In the “shape” of the identity, each country participating will be able to assert its membership to the community of the Festival by affixing its “extension”. This could be for example “RU” for Russia or “CA” for Canada.
We think about this new identity to come closer to competitors, designers, speakers, public and partners who will want to be each year for it, the interpreters
